Ann J. Colwell, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Carmel.

Ann was born February 23, 1934 to Allen C. and Marjorie F. (Ricketts) Jeffries. On March 25, 1954, Ann married William S. Colwell Jr. They have shared 69 years of marriage.

Ann worked at Sears and Roebuck in Indiana, was an admissions clerk at Hempstead General Hospital in New York, and worked as an interpreter at the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan. She also enjoyed cruising the Caribbean with her husband, horse racing, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years William S. Colwell Jr., her children; William S. Colwell III of Carmel, Michael A. Colwell of Atlanta, GA, Geoffrey E. Colwell (Linda) of Indianapolis, and Candace L. Raymond of Dallas, GA along with four grandchildren Cameron, Emerson, Owen, Annalisa. She is also survived by her siblings; James Jeffries (Patti) of Hampton, GA and Michael Jeffries (Judith) of Nashville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Carol A. Colwell, a brother Allen C. Jeffries Jr., and a daughter-in-law Cindy R. Colwell.

There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Roachdale Cemetery located in Roachdale, IN. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in memory of Ann to your local Public Library.
