Kenneth Dale Stevens

Kenneth Dale Stevens, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Gibson Center for Hospice Care, surrounded by family. He was born on July 20, 1955, in Bedford, to Robert Eugene and Lola (Kohansby) Stevens.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Stevens; daughter, Christina Kruse; son, Robert Stevens and wife Tasha; step-daughters, Amanda Dugger and Kaydee Dugger; grandchildren, Hunter Stevens, Ava Stevens, Aryn Marie Kruse, and Gunner Kruse; brother, Dan Stevens and wife Peggy; sisters, Cathy Spurlock and Lesa Bryant; brother-in-law, Jim Conaway; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janeen Conaway.

Kenneth graduated from Westfield-Washington High School in Westfield. He then joined the United States Coast Guard in 1974 and proudly served at several stations including Alabama and Alaska, before retiring from the Loran Station in Dana in 1994. Kenneth earned several medals, ribbons, and stars during his 20 years of dedicated service to his country. He then went to work for several years at Great Dane and later at North American Lighting.

Kenneth was an avid golfer. He could be found on the golf course most days or at the driving range practicing his swing. If he wasn’t golfing, Kenneth would often be relaxing in front of the television, watching one of his favorite Westerns with his beloved dog, Rosie, on his lap. Kenneth was kind, considerate, and hard-working.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Memorial Ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with military honors. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
