Carolyn Sue Allen

JANUARY 12, 1943 – JULY 4, 2023

Carolyn Sue (Corenflos) Allen, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, July 4, 2023 after battling many ailments related to skin cancer. She was born on January 12, 1943 in Terre Haute to Francois and Flora (Brooks) Corenflos.

Carolyn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Terry Allen in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene, Jack, and Jerry; and sisters, Ruby and Doris.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand-nieces and great-grand nephews.

Carolyn was a graduate of Garfield High School and attended Indiana State University. She began a long and successful career at CBS Records in Terre Haute where she supported equipment and systems installations and supervised many people over the years. Carolyn was a long-time member of North Terre Haute Baptist Church and she loved the Lord.

She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed debating current and past sporting events with her family, friends and coworkers. Her favorite teams were the Yankees (she would watch them on Saturday mornings with her dad while her mom would make the popcorn), Colts, Pacers, Larry Bird's Celtics and the Sycamores (Carolyn and Terry were season ticket holders for many years). Carolyn was also a lover of great music and enjoyed all genres from classical to country to 50s and 60s rock and roll. She enjoyed tinkering on her keyboard and dancing to the jukebox in their basement with friends and family.

The holidays were always more special when Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Terry were around. During the younger days, they brought toys and gifts for the kids. As the family grew older, everyone looked forward to Aunt Carolyn's date nut pudding. Most of all, Carolyn had a dynamic personality that drew people to her like a magnet. She gave her heart and a lot of love, and she received that love back from those who were blessed to know her. She will be missed and always remembered and loved by her family and friends.

Per her wishes, no services will be held. Carolyn will be laid to rest next to Terry in Roselawn Memorial Park's Chapel of Memories.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net for the Allen family.
