Rose E. Ramey

Rose Ellen Ramey, 96, passed away August 1, 2023. Rose was born to the late William and Nora (Scott) Smith on May 7, 1927.

In the 1960’s Rose married Charles L. Ramey who preceded her in death in 1996. Rose enjoyed caring for animals, if she could feed it, or it had feathers, she enjoyed it. At one point she had over 100 chickens, 52 pigeons, 24 parakeets, 12 ducks, and 5 geese. In her later years she enjoyed caring for her cats and raccoons. She loved to spend time outside and watch the sunrise, sunset, and the sun glimmer on the lake.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Donald E. Ames, a daughter, Diane Ramey, a daughter in law, Mildred Ames, as well as all of her siblings.

Rose is survived by one son, Bill Ames, niece, Beverly Winters and her son Steven, grandchildren, Michelle Dulaney, Robert Ames (Brenda), Curtis Ames (Amy), Tammy Porter (Kevin), and Donald Ames (Linda), great grandchildren, Shawn, Donald, Amanda, Jessica, Elizabeth, Bobbi Jo, Jordan, Avery, Larisa, Logan, Landen, Lacie, Donnie, Jake, Ashley, as well as many great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 7th at 1 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park.
