Debra Lou McGowan

October 13, 1953  -  August 7, 2023

Debra McGowan aka “Short Stuff” and “Mimi”, 69, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2023.

She was born on October 13, 1953, to Edward and Davella Rauscher. She was reunited with her parents and three sisters, Rita, Florella, and Nancy, and one of her greatest friends Betty, along with her kitties. She will be sadly missed by her son, Jeffrey, daughter in law, April, and her 8 grandchildren, Austin, Joseph, Emilea, Megan, Michael, Makayla, George and Jeffrey Jr, as well as her favorite cousin Bobby, several friends and her caregivers from Hutsonwood of Brazil.

Debra and her family moved to California when she was 13 years old. She graduated from Orange High School with the class of 1972 and attended college at Orange Coast College. She enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time out-doors and being a part of nature. Debra was a die-hard Rams fan all her life but was an even bigger fan of her son. Cheering him on at football games was one of her most favorite and memorable pastimes. He was the light of her life. She also loved her grandchildren very much and spoiled them every chance she could. Debra had such a big heart, that she gave so much love to everyone who knew her. She even had more than enough love to give to her kitties, and even raccoons at one point.

The family has chosen to have Debra cremated, and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations wishing to be made, be at the donors choice or a local humane society as Debra loved animals.
