Janet Carole O'Hair, 82, of Greencastle, passed away on August 12, 2023, at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

She was born in Greencastle on April 9, 1941.

Janet had a fulfilling life surrounded by her family and friends. She worked at Hickory Creek at Sunset for 24 years, retiring in 2008.

Janet was a talented musician and had a beautiful voice. She was a member of the Morton Trio and played the piano for several years. Her love for music extended beyond her performances as she enjoyed listening to various genres, with a special fondness for Toby Keith's music. Janet also found solace in working on crosswords, coloring, and reading.

Janet’s greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment she had with them. Janet’s warm and loving nature created a strong bond with her family, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Janet is survived by her beloved children: Michael O'Hair with wife Lorie of Crawfordsville, Felicia Weist with husband Larry of Russellville. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Ruiz of Crawfordsville, Porschia Turner with husband Austin of Greencastle, Kyndall Williams of Greencastle, Daymian Weist of Russellville, and Katera Weist of Terre Haute. Great grandchildren Brantley Cromwell, Donavan Weist, Dallas Turner, Carsan Weist, and Harper Wright. Janet was a loving sister to Marcia Miller with husband Tom of Clinton Falls and brother, Donald Albin of Auburn. Her former husband and good friend, Michael O’Hair of Russellville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Claire T. Albin and Lucille (Clark) Albin, as well as her grandparents, Glen and Lina Clark, and Paul and Mary Lou Albin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark O'Hair, grandson Shelby Williams, and her life companion of many years, Jerry Young.

Janet had chosen to be cremated at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her memory.

Janet’s gentle spirit, kind heart, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
