Sandra Jayne Lankford

JANUARY 13, 1937 – AUGUST 13, 2023

Sandy Lankford, born Sandra Jayne Marvin on January 13, 1937, in Robinson, IL, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 2:24 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Raised in West Union, IL, Sandy's journey led her from Hutsonville High School in Hutsonville, IL, to Peoria, IL, where she worked for Caterpillar Equipment Company. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Hansel H. Lankford.

Sandy's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and creativity. A dedicated mother to Brent and Erick Lankford, her nurturing guidance, and the cherished memories of her large gardens and craft rooms remain in their hearts.

Her roots on her parents' farm shaped her into a strong and independent soul. She held a deep love for God, finding solace in His presence. Gardening, the ocean's majesty, and crafting were her sources of inspiration, reflecting the complexity she carried within.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Louise Marvin, her sister Janice Ann Owens, and brother-in-law, Willard (Bill) Owens.

Sandy's memory endures through the lives she touched, her family, the dogs, and the foster animals she cared for.

A private family graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday 16 August at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN.
