Sharon Kay Hoese

Sharon was born in Putnam County on June 30, 1941, the daughter of Marvin and Nellie (Dearing) Jones, and was a graduate of Fillmore High School.

Mrs. Hoese worked for many years with Wendy’s in Tennessee, and here in Greencastle. She was a member of Moose Lodge #1592, Women of the Moose Chapter #138, and First Baptist Church of Greencastle. She loved writing poetry, and going to church. She was the best at making biscuits and gravy.

Survivors include her four children, Dawn Duhon, Max Hoese, (Sherry), Janetta McCoy, and Scott Hoese; a brother, Eddie Jones; three sisters, Rosemary Woods, Debbie Alamo, (Pete), and Cathy Clodfelter, (Terry); two brothers-in-law, Danny Arnold and Bill Sibbitt; a sister-in-law, Sharon Jones; and a special friend and companion, Larry Gamble.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Jones; and two sisters, Jane Sibbitt, and Betty Arnold.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
