Mary Gladys “Babe” Pierce was born April 10, 1936, in Greencastle to George and Marguerite Scott. Sadly, she left us on Aug. 4, 2023.

Mary was a full-time, stay-at-home mom for more than 21 years before starting a 30-year career at DePauw University in food services.

She was a dedicated and loving Mom, Mamaw and Great-Mamaw to children Paul (Brenda) Pierce, Lea (Tim) Ginn and Linda (Clay) Douglas; grandchildren Steve (Katie) Pierce, Paul Jr. (Rachel) Pierce, Matt Pierce, Nathan (Kelly) Ginn, Chris Ginn and Matthew (Brittany) Ginn; great-grandchildren Cameron, Evangeline, Benedict, Lily, Joseph, Hailey, Ciera, Mallorie, Kassidy and Iris. She is survived by siblings Barbara Scott Bevan and Charlotte Russell.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, George “Butch” Scott, Sara Jane Wilson, Janet Secrest and Steven Scott.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Greencastle. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
