Lila M. Jones, 85, formerly of Greencastle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Avon in Avon.

She was born in Brazil to Daniel and Ruth (Allen) Eaglin.

Lila worked as a sales clerk for Prevo, a teller at First Citizens Bank, a customer service clerk for the Indiana BMV and a customer service representative for Duke Energy before retiring.She loved to play golf and spend the winters in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roland (RJ) Jones, brothers Richard Eaglin and Fred Eaglin and sister Francis Mercer.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy L. Jones (Elaine) of Quitman, Ga., and Tony R. Jones (Charri) of Brownsburg; five grandchildren, Jessica (Stephen) Dasher of Valdosta, Ga., Dani (Billy) Giddens of Quitman, Ga., James (Baesha) Jones of Los Angeles, Calif., Betsy (Matt) Georgiou of Kingston upon Thames, England, and Chelsea (David) Jones of Fort Wayne; and two great-granddaughters, Emma Dasher and Isabelle Georgiou. She has one surviving sister, Loretta (Al) Pierce of Brazil, and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation services will be performed by Neptune Society in Indianapolis. A celebration of life and memorial service will be scheduled for the spring/summer of 2024.
