John David McGuire, 94, of New Maysville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, 2023.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1929, in Hendricks County to the late John H. and Mary D. (Mitchell) McGuire.

In 1951, he married Melba (Downs) McGuire. She preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2015.

John was a farmer all his working career, working as a dairy farmer for more than 50 years. After retiring, he worked for Edwards Equipment helping deliver and pick up equipment.

John enjoyed his farm, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of New Maysville Community Church.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Owens, Marion McGuire, John David (Linda) McGuire and Jolane Baker; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jayne Henderson; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and son Michael McGuire.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at New Maysville Community Church, 6817 E. CR 900 North, Roachdale, with Pastor Larry Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in New Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
