Floyd Freeman

Floyd Freeman, 88, of Cloverdale, passed away on Oct. 7, 2023.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1935, in Frankfort.

Floyd, also known as “High-Pockets,” was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley; their daughter, Sheila (John); and brother Gerald (Carolyn). He will also be deeply missed by his granddaughters, Bailee (Mike) and Taylor (Zack); as well as his great-grandchildren, Marlee, Mikey and Maddex.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his mother, Myrle; his brother, Gene; his sister, Marie; and his daughter, Brenda.

Floyd attended Quincy High School before proudly serving in the Army National Guard. After his military service, Floyd dedicated himself to his career. He owned Freeman Excavating and Clover Homes, where he showcased his strong work ethic.

Floyd will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
