Doris J. Knauer, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Nov. 22, 2023.

She was born Jan. 3, 1935 to the late Clayton and Winnie (Davis) Cox.

She married William E. Knauer on Feb. 24, 1951, and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2012.

Doris is survived by her son, Michael E. Knauer of Greencastle, daughter June E. (Rick) Query of Reelsville, sisters Barbara Stewart and Bernice Morgan, brother Jerry (Wilma) Cox, eight grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren and her little dog, Pepper.

In addition to her husband and parents she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Allee, sister Betty Bruner and brother Russell Cox.

Funeral services will be held for Doris at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time of 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
